UMass Amherst Faculty and Staff Campaign: Your Participation Counts!

Dear UMass Faculty, Staff, and CSSC Fellows and Friends,

I’d like to urge your participation in this year’s UMass Amherst Faculty and Staff Campaign.

The Campaign represents an opportunity not only to support the University, but also, because the Chancellor’s Office is providing a 1:1 match of gifts up to $10,000, you can double the impact of your gift.

But that’s not all. For each dollar pledged to CSSC, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will match it with an additional $.50. This means every dollar you give to CSSC through the UMass Faculty and Staff Campaign becomes $2.50, simply by making a commitment now. In these economic times, that is an extraordinary return.

The Campaign allows you to specifically earmark your gift allocation. You can target your support to CSSC. You can decide to support student scholarships, CSSC programming, research, or make a memorial tribute. The choice is entirely yours.

Making a gift, regardless of its size, is important. Your participation in the UMass Faculty and Staff Campaign is a tangible sign to those outside the University of faculty and staff commitment to the institution. High participation makes a compelling statement to alumni, foundations, and other sources of support about the dedication of those who know the University and CSSC best.

Giving is easy. You can make an outright contribution now, or you can make a pledge that is payable over the course of the year. You can even make your gift part of the payroll deduction program. Make a gift now using your credit or debit card or download a payroll deduction form (pdf). You can also send a check to the SBS Development Office, payable to UMass Amherst, 40 Draper Hall. Be sure to specify your gift designation as FOR THE SBS CENTER CSSC. If you have questions, please call James Mallet, director of development, at 1-413-577.1700.

Please join me in participating in the UMass Amherst Faculty and Staff Campaign. Your gift will make a difference.

Cordially,

Jan Servaes
Director and UNESCO Chair in Communication for Sustainable Social Change
